There’s 89 Gigs in the base game. I didn’t at all feel ripped off that some of them are similar. I’d rather the gigs feel similar than have them encroaching on the side quests in feel.

The game is long. 100-120 hours a playthrough isn’t for everybody. As long as you feel satisfied that’s what counts.

As a senior engineer recently turned manager I hear this type of mentality from most of my junior all the way up to senior devs.

The only thing I’d suggest to you is spend some time digging into the tools you’re building outside of the project you’re working on. Just to get a general understanding of how the pieces fit together. Definitely do it during work hours, though. I’m in no way suggesting outside of work, here. Once you’ve spent enough time digging, you’ll surprise yourself in how effective you get at answering questions.

I’ve never seen a problem with asking people to code in a live session. It’s about the problems they are asked to solve. Leetcode style problems are generally unrealistic and have little to do with the skills that are actually needed.

If the problems were more focused on the day to day type of work, nobody would complain. “solve x problem without the industry standard library that solves that problem already” is just testing the ability to quickly reinvent wheels.

Google has been more transparent that it happens. Apple is definitely collecting information on everything you do on their devices as well. It may be just as much info.

With their new pay later feature, you know they are at least collecting enough info to make financial decisions based on your profile.

They also collect health data using the watch.

They collect more than that in order to better understand how to keep people in their ecosystem. I’d wager the latter will about cover what OP was surprised by Google capturing.

Microsoft is another story. They are the most valuable tech company in the world right now due to AI. Which indicates that they are training some powerful AI on data that has been gathered in a number of places.

A program that works right but doesn’t solve the problem is also not very useful.

I think Python is easy to learn but difficult to get past the basics. I’m also not convinced that getting past the basics is even worth it in three long run. I say this as a person who has used all Python at work for roughly 70 percent of the last 15 years. My current position is moving to Rust and my last 2 positions were moving to Go. Everybody was happier.

This. C# has been losing momentum for years but some people just won’t see it. I think Microsoft trying to move 365 of of it is just another big flag that devs need to start looking elsewhere.

Microsoft has been pretty open that they intend to move to Rust. They are currently re-building the Windows API in Rust as well. I do expect they will try to push .NET in that world which will be a bummer.

Something I’m not seeing here is many people in the cyber and info security spaces will have a homelab capable of complex configurations in order to mimic enterprise environments for their research.

This could be as simple as a single VM or as complex as multiple segregated networks to try to traverse.

Unless your government id has a PO box on it you’re likely not going to get the results you’re looking for. As somebody else mentioned, that info is public record.

I will say that Apple is 100 percent collecting your data. Health, financial, biometric, anything you put in an Apple Device is subject. Like most large companies, the are probably also purchasing profile data from Acxiom and Experian.

I don’t know if they are doing it with this service but Apple is definitely not respecting your privacy. If you are concerned about privacy, you’re better off trying to use more specialized tools for a job than any singular ecosystem. Apple wants everybody to be in their single ecosystem to better build profiles in their systems.

While I agree that this should happen when negligence is found, don’t be fooled into thinking that will prevent breaches entirely.

As long as things are available online there will be data breaches. Many of them will be a result of negligence. Some of them will be the result of zero day vulnerabilities, though.
