Oh, thanks for the cross-post @tal@lemmy.today! :)
And again, congrats on a great first year to everyone of us who contributed in making this instance what it is today.
And of course a special thanks to the admins!
Scatterbrained and friendly optimist. Always happy to give my (unasked for) opinion :)
Pardon my rambling and broken English, I know I often sound like an alien trying to impersonate a human being.

You can use the \blend
command if you want to combine two images without any prompt.
I’m going to avoid all controversy and just make the g silent. It’s ‘if from now on.
If I say it fast enough, people will just assume I use their version.
Thanks for the update, and thank you for all the hard work.
Hi and welcome!
Sounds nice, good for him
So, was there ever a follow-up on how his trip with the boys went?
I agree. Thanks for keeping us updated and explaining what kind of money needs to be spend.
I’ll be more than happy to chip in.

For me, it’s not so much about what they can do now, but what they will do in the future.
I’m not a very technical person (at least in this field). But I’m infinitely distrustful of anything Meta does and I consider it hubris if we think we’re safe with the implementations we have now. They’re talented and ruthless at what they do; making money out of you, whether you want to or not.
It took me a moment to realize that this is the new Meta thing. At first I thought it was about some new client app or something.
THIS is their actual logo? Who’s kid was commissioned for this masterpiece?
I think it’s more like the enshittification process.
At least, that’s how I read it. We’re currently at step 1 and I’m sure Meta is creative and greedy enough to make it all the way to step 3.
I guess the E.E.E. process will also be part of this, most likely after step 1 has been completed?
I have a lot of feelings about this matter. But my main concern is that I value the idea of privacy, anonimity and the right to reveal as much of yourself online as you are willing to do so. And Meta has shown time and time again that they are actively against the very concept of letting people be.
Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but they will find a way to ruin this for everyone if it helps their bottom line.
On top of that, it’s opening the floodgates to a stream of content that will most likely drown out the individuality of our communities. We’re still growing and building, I would love for us to have our own place before the Meta masses join.

Can’t argue with this logic :)
Beans it is!
Oh wow, this sounds too much like my own life. I ping pong between a lot of different interests constantly.
The only thing I found that really keeps me focused on one interest is:
Like for example, making an art project for someone’s birthday. But even then it only works if I have a good idea ready on what I want to do. I try to keep notes on ideas that pop in my head, so that when the opportunity is there (and I have the right motivation) I have something ready to work on.
I wish you the best of luck, it’s not easy to deal with this kind of thing.
I think that phrases quite well how I feel about it. Old internet…
You’re making me feel nostalgic now, in a good way.
I’ll try my best to participate. I’ve always been more of a lurker on Reddit ( due to some social anxieties ) but I’ll try my best to participate. I would love for Lemmy/Kbin to keep the momentum going.
A slipknot works great! It’s done in a second and easily undone as well.
