Ok, but my gen 1 Chromecast stopped working years ago, and it was sluggish, unreliable to cast to and virtually unusable long before that. My Chromecast Ultra has steadily declined in usability too, the whole Chromecast UX has fallen off a cliff the past few years. It used to be fucking magic and just worked with everything. Now my Chromecast with Google TV only really works satisfactorily when I bother to update smarttube and pair it with the code.

The whole platform is trash these days compared to the original gen 1 experience. I went from living in the future, only using my phone to watch TV 10 years ago, to slowly migrating back to a fucking remote control like it’s 1980 again. Say what you want, but the promise that gen 1 Chromecast delivered on has been dead and buried for a while now.

Wonder if that strictly means lessons learned in development, or if it hints at onboard processing like a Quest. I’ve been more impressed with smaller headsets like bigscreen than standalone units lately

Fwiw the switch is also significantly more portable. I love my deck but I only use it at home in bed or on the couch. I wouldn’t really try using it in public.

They’re delisting in regions without PSN. The irony of Helldivers is they backpedaled on PSN requirement but left it delisted in those countries. So people who already bought it can still play but new people can’t buy, so the player base is steadily declining.

I’m glad they put the real headline in the URL so I don’t have to click the bait. I hate the Internet now. It’s like they want us to stay exclusively on the big platforms

On steam deck I just install them with Steam forcing it to run in proton. Works great

I watched multiple tech reviews bend the thing in their bare hands. Just because you didn’t damage yours doesn’t mean it wasn’t a huge issue

I’m just as surprised when people say they don’t get it. Locomotion is the thing that makes me sick. 1:1 room scale walking? No prob. Teleporting, cool. Joystick movement? Taking a ride on the Vomit express.

Like the other poster said, it was an open source project but the rights were sold to illfonic. Xonotic is the fork the community made to keep the open source project going

Xonotic is a fun spin on the Quake formula. Loved dueling with that guided rocket on aerowalk. Just a shame all the fallout that happened with Nexuiz

Open arena is just quake 3 with bad art assets, might as well play quake live to find real players.

Discord is just not suitable for any group larger than a WoW guild. I don’t understand why anyone would ever think it’s a good idea for software/mod projects. Anything that needs to be searched should not be on discord

It’s not any simpler, you’re just changing the frame of reference relative to the fulcrum point. His example is just as valid. If you’re controlling from behind the fulcrum inverted is perfectly intuitive.

Still a setting in any game worth caring about. I still prefer inverted in some cases.

Something like a mounted turret makes more sense inverted if you think of the mouse as an analog of your hand. Moving the handles down would move the tip of the barrel up. This analogy could easily extend to a two handed rifle or even a hand gun if your mental reference is the back of the gun, the handle
