I’ve personally had no issues with the latest version of MO2 distributed on nexus when modding skyrim
Sorry, book broke
I’ve personally had no issues with the latest version of MO2 distributed on nexus when modding skyrim
Yeah hear me out though, fuck linking accounts to anywhere, fuck DRM. That’s why I bought the game on GOG. The factorio site in no way needs to have any information on me in order to download mods. I in no way want to link shit to a third party. They don’t need to grab my info.
I own factorio on GOG but there’s no way in hell I’m going to do that bullshit. I completely understand people being unwilling to buy because of this DRM. I bought it off GOG to avoid DRM. If I had known there’s no way in hell I’d have bought this game.
Seriously, great game, fuck wube for shoving DRM down my throat for a mod. Lube up boys. Fuck that. 50 dollars and I have to submit to this man who fears piracy, an inevitability, more than they value real ownership of your product. Now I have to use an inferior product to avoid this trash
If I could I’d refund just to pirate.
Yeah I do love heroic, fantastic and modern UI and very usable. I use lutris for pirated games though but I mostly buy from GOG so heroic is my main launcher currently
You’ll need to run the game once, at which point there should be a folder with a bunch of numbers in that folder. It seems like the folder is here from what you’ve posted:
$HOME/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Elden Ring/drive_c/users/reinoud/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing/76561197960267366
I could be wrong however, sorry for that I only use heroic for GOG games
But yeah, just paste the ER0000.sl2 file in that folder and all should be good, as long as you’re using the same pirated version of EldenRing. If you start the game and it says save file currupted or something along those lines, though I doubt it will, you’ll need the eldenring save manager mod to fix it. Again however, I doubt this is needed
sorry about that, the file is called ER0000.sl2
You should try find . -type f -name "*.sl2"
For others that may see this and be confused, what you’re asking is for any file ending in exactly .sl
. Since the ending is sl2
it’ll be false, as there’s a 2
at the end.
Ah shit, yes, that’s a good point. It eill give a semi random I’d to non-steam games. I don’t know if the prefix is guessible, so when I need to I check each folder for it.
Now thinking though that’s a fairly dumb way of doing it. I’d suggest instead searching for “EldenRing” in the .local/share/Steam/steamapps
folder. May that be in your normal file manager such as plasmas dolphin, or with the find command in terminal
You’ll want to get the save from steams prefix and copy it to heroics prefix, or your default prefix. Sorry, not near a pc so this’ll be a bit off
The steam save file should be located somewhere around here:
$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1245620/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing
It should be called something like “er0001.sl2”
Find the same location in your heroic prefix, which should be saved here
$HOME/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/EldenRing/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing/
Locations may be a bit different, sorry for any possible confusion.
If you removed the game from steam already though the save file is gone. This has bitten me in the past personally
Edit: Save file ends in sl2, not sl as I had stated before the edit
I’m going to run this in a hannah Montana linux vm, boot a live disc, then try and recover.
Linux puzzle edition
Careful deleting the prefix, as it will delete game save data. I’d suggest backing up the data, and the prefix, before creating a new one. Just rename the prefix by adding --old to the end and move the save game out of the prefix
I wonder if that man was able to go without peeing for that amount of time. What food and drink did he consume. Did our suggestions help? Also, separate question, why? Seriously, why. Why couldn’t he tell us why either.
That’s my favourite moment. Early on but it sticks in my head.
But they are now, they exist currently. The fuck are you talking about. If we became an ancap society they wouldn’t magically disapear. What, you think that any ancap would ask for these companies to disolve before they’re society started? To go back to square one? Nah, that’s not what the guy pictured or any popular ancap has suggested. That’s not randian, that’s some fantasy. Rands suggested solution necesitates the lalrger corporations gaining control. To be allowed to freely operate. Name me one ancap thought leader who suggests a mass reset and that in no world a large corp could form.
Also, even if ancap sociaty started from scratch eventually a company would gain power over an industry. With nothing to stop them, the biggest companies would inevitably grow bigger. That’s capitalism, the need to grow is constant and one cannot stagnate. Not neccessarally a bad thing but with no guide rails it logically means monopoly. No, a lack of copyright law wouldn’t stop any company from growing to a size where they could kill competition.
When there’s a new industry too, they’ll be the ones to pioneer it. What, do you think Microsoft came fully formed from bill gates forehead? No, the current companies at the time would have taken gates designs and copies them. They, with their distribution networks, would easily outcompete. What if bill made a better product? Well, no copyright, it’s now theirs.
Nah, that just means they can take whatever they want from others too. Now they own all the smaller projects as well, and any changes they make to linux don’t have to be shared. Linux is now winix, and they’ve paid the computer companies to nolonger allow linux to be installed at all via hardware. What, that’s anti-competative? Yeah, who’s gonna stop them? You? You don’t have the resources.
What, could you make a windows clone? Could you then out-compete the multi-billion dollar company in the market? What PC would allow you to install your windows clone? Also, Microsoft now owns the land you live on. You must leave, they are the owners of that land and thus make the rules. Want to fight back? too bad, they own the private police force too. Policing is an industry, and currently the government has a monopoly over it. Without regulations they’re now a free org who takes the highest bid. You don’t have enough money to live while copying Microsoft Windows. Nobody does.
What? Another company will use they’re resources to compete with windows? Why would they win? Microsoft has more resources, will buy more output, will pay more companies for exclusivity, and can have them put a system in to brick the PC if you try not using windows. Sure, they may be able to get a small industry set up, but none of what they make will inter-operate with windows and now this small fraction of PC users is isolated. Why would anyone switch?
No, anarcho capitalism won’t stop Microsoft’s existence because of copyright. Copyright in many ways protects smaller orgs more, and with no other regulations stopping the big orgs from stomping out the small orgs it won’t matter. The only possible fight would be between the titans and when one titan wins, that’s no more helpful to the small people.
That guy in the bottom doesn’t want to eat the rich, he’s an anarcho capitalist. He wants microsoft to be free from those pesky regulations stopping it from collecting and selling every tiny piece of information it can get it’s hands on
I’ve had bad experiances. Started the pc on mint with cinimon, but that had some issues so I installed xfce and plasma to see if another environment may work. Xfce worked like a dream but plasma was quite laggy.
I’d say plasma has similar or possibly mildly better performance than win10. Any time I put it on older hardware it seems to bog it down quite a bit
Mostly same here, save for legit indie companies. I’m still going to buy haunted chocolater, silksong, and arcane (by randy) when they come out. Maybe hades 2 as well but I’ll have to look into the question of “are they indie?” beforehand. Alot of people claimed that helldivers was indie when I’d argue it really isn’t
Is it closed source? No way in hell am I “sharing it with my friends and family” if I have no idea what it does. No offense, but I don’t know you. This reeks of malice
The issue is that this data can be used to fingerprint or de-anonomize users. Even if it’s just a big list of statistics, knowing how likely or unlikely a system change, setting change, version, etc. is can help greatly with a person looking to pin down users. They’ll know how likely a person with a specific pattern is the same person.
I’m glad it’s not distributed. If it was, I’d slide it all the way back to 0. Good intentions from the collectors doesn’t stop bad intentions of consumers
Hey man, I just like pressing buttons, switches, and dragging sliders. I don’t need to know what they do as long as they aren’t what they were before
