Maybe long term, but plenty of businesses rely on apps that can’t or don’t run on the cloud. I can see them pushing low end devices to this. They have tried several times.

They nominate positions on the FTC, which is supposed to be responsible for managing monopolies. Recent nominations have shown interest in updating or outdated policies regarding monopolies.

What valve does is so distinct from what most of the industry does the comparison is laughable. Valve is still a company and not our friend sure, but they are not openly anti-consumer like EA or Blizzard. And they don’t abuse their monopolies like Google or Microsoft.

At least this is about autoimmune diseases which aren’t contagious.

Helped my single player games look better, which is nice. I only play older FPS games and don’t need it there.

I don’t use keyboard shortcuts. And the right click menu only has like 5 things, and that was the option I used the most. It was a pointless change.

Chrome crippling the reopen tab option(they removed from right click menu) is what drove me back to Firefox.

The quality and partner/sponsor issues are mostly expected from getting investor money and expanding quickly. The harassment issues are probably a preexisting problem from existing management. So its interesting that these issues are coming out near the same time.

Expect Linus to be reigned in and no longer be responding directly to these issues. Despite that he didnt sell the company, the people/banks that gave him the money to expand will not be happy to lose their money.

Great video. I like how he points out some of the unfair and bad practices in the hardware review community. Testing cards on Ultra isn’t the best practice and a lot of sites have issues with objectivity.

They have the infrastructure to be a testing powerhouse, putting out a lot more data than other sites. That said, they seem to be doing it very inefficiently and don’t seem to have the staff and knowledge to make it all work.

You can absolutely have both. In fact the galaxy S5 had both a swappable battery and IP67. Tons of devices do. Glued construction was always about reducing manufacturing costs, not about an IP rating.

I doubt most companies would bother. Apple is probably the only one with the volume to bother.

I’d much rather just have a bigger battery. Replacement is more useful for longevity for me.

Been fine for me. I think it crashed once. On vsh I had a problem where I couldn’t punch.

I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as GNU/Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux/Wine/Proton, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux plus wine plus proton. GNU/Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities compatibility layers and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the wine/proton system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of wine/proton which is widely used today is often called “steam”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the wine/proton system, developed by the win Project and valve.

There really is a GNU/Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. GNU/Linux is normally used in combination with the wine/proton compatibility layer: the whole system is basically GNU/Linux with wine/proton added, or GNU/Linux/Wine/Proton. All the so-called “GNU/Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux/Wine/Proton.

I love my ultrawide. Won’t go back to two small monitors. Maybe the 48".
