If you have no life a PHEV is the best of both worlds. I went all of COVID without ever getting gas because I was able to just use the battery. And PHEVs have been increasing in range too. I got mine in 2019 and it only has 26 miles range, but the RAV4 prime gets 42 now. Maybe there is even something better, haven’t really been paying attention cause I don’t need a new car.

I think the more realistic way it would be handled is that the site you published your content on puts in its terms of service that you agree that stuff you put on their site can be used for AI training, and openAI buys the data from them, either via an API key or a data dump or whatever.

But I see merit in not allowing companies to profit off of whatever content already exists without any sort of consent. And I don’t agree with the idea it’s like a child learning… You aren’t raising a child to sell a subscription to their knowledge and profit off of it

I see these users constantly call for the removal of mods. Let them go the way of interestingasfuck, with mods forcefully removed by the admins and it is now desolate and closed to new submissions

I was hired onto a project like this. Had to sign an NDA and we were completely separate from the rest of the company, slack email etc. People weren’t allowed to interact with us unless they signed the NDA also, most of the company didn’t even know we existed.

We were actually architecting an alternative to something a third party was providing internally, and had to be super secret cause of the contract.

So I guess it depends how much you like your job. The market sucks right now and there’s no guarantee you won’t leave and be laid off from your new job elsewhere. I would stick around cause it’s less effort til I find out what the deal is. It’s not like they are gonna be able to cut over the entire backend suddenly if that’s what they are doing. But be saving money in the meantime.
