Saved you a search.
Why would I use this “Geometric Weather” on Android instead of a completely free weather app such as omWeather?
Doesn’t show as much information (e.g. dew point, daily forecast details).
Doesn’t support multiple weather providers, AFAIK.
Doesn’t look as nice, if that matters.
Both apps don’t track. I would venture a guess and say that Breezy Weather has the warning, because it includes AccuWeather, which can be turned off and changed to OpenMeteo or others.
SCEE is described as StreetComplete for advanced users. Does anyone have experience with this?
I just launch Firefox with this option:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -ProfileManager
Always launches with the profile selector. Then install a profile switcher extension. Done.
Unfortuntaley 1) it doesn’t really come out of the box and 2) the extension must be installed on every single profile. Not the most obvious or user friendly.
"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.” - Carl Sagan (in No Man’s Sky)
“Sometimes people make choices that leave them alone.” - Bastion
“The Old Ones perished because they didn’t embrace change.” - Aratak, Horizon Zero Dawn
Where’s that from?
Fantastic. Whoever wrote this had an inspired day.
I feel such a sentiment can be misguided, because it can lead someone to be utterly discontent.
Applied properly with perspective, it can lead to discoveries about oneself, of course.
“A man chooses, a slave obeys.” — BioShock
From Andrew Ryan, the founder of Rapture, the underwater utopia gone wrong in BioShock. This is Ryan’s philosophy valuing individual freedom and rationality over collectivism and morality. I can never decide whether I agree with this or not. There’s truth in it, but it can be misguided and extreme as well.
“Improving” is not a word I would use in this case.
Fairphone proves the usual excuses for ending Android support aren’t valid.
That alone is worth a lot. Their endeavour for longevity is also great. I hope they get the attention they need.
If I wouldn’t dislike Discord so much.
A thought: seeing that this is an app for Lemmy, why not have a Lemmy community?
On a note. This community exists here.
Does NetGuard show me the same information TrackerControl does and vice versa?
Mostly I try to secure my Android phone. I know that I cannot have a VPN and a firewall running at the same time (why Googla hasn’t gotten that right yet is beyond me). Hopefully Rethink will do this at some point. No ads and tracking protection are a must. Android allows to set a private DNS natively, so an app is not a must, but if it offers an advantage I will do it (e.g. NetGuard + Private DNS or just Rethink).
Qapla’!
I see Denuvo, I don’t buy.
Simple.
It’s Logitech. Can’t get much worse.
