I switched over to Proton from Gmail about 8-10 months ago and it’s been great so far. Folders and filters have been like what I was used to. The only thing I haven’t played around with much is calendar and invites.
I ended up going for the whole proton bundle since it included the vpn, storage, and custom domains (up to 10 addresses I think)
5·2 months agoUkraine isn’t really using DJIs as much (if any at all) as they are custom built FPV drones.
I switched to the Affinity suite today after almost 20 years of using Adobe products. After the trial I realized that I actually enjoyed the layout of the tools and the familiarity between photoshop and illustrator. Their InDesign alternative (Publisher 2) is pretty nice too. It really helps that they’re giving 50% off right now. (Smart marketing btw)
Only thing I’m struggling with finding a replacement for is after effects. I already made the switch to DaVinci for video so motion graphics is the only hole left to fill and then I’m free from Adobe.

6·3 months agoAt my last company, we used the scaled TBD. For personal projects I do the same. It’s honestly really nice. Not having to worry about merging issues between a dev branch and main branch was probably the biggest benefit. The code base also felt more accessible to the team. Cherry-picking a particular commit that a teammate worked on that’s been merged but I needed on my feature/bug branch was also painless.
Yup. We hit an R3 in space weather conditions over the past 24 hours which means radio comms were impacted.
I think the same can be said for a lot of fields. E.g., just because someone’s an excellent architect doesn’t make them a good animator by default.
There’s also so many variations on the types of programming. Maybe a mathematician might be better suited for data science rather than frontend stuff. And even then, each person is different and has their own set of skills part from whatever their formal training is.
What I think makes good programmers is having the ability to bash your head against your desk while debugging, but still walking away at the end of the day loving the job and problem solving. Persistence and creativity go a long way in programming.

I have some answers that might help but there’s a few pieces that I need to write out on something other than mobile. Will reply back in a day or so.
You could actually use Backblaze for both scenarios: as a normal cloud storage where you can access stuff back n forth or for long term backups and storage.
I use Duplicacy to copy and encrypt my main folders once a week. But you can set schedules for backups as you wish. Depending on how much you’re backing up it may get a bit pricey though. I have a little under a couple terabytes backed up and pay around $6 for Backblaze. They have a client I’ve never used that might be helpful as well.
One thing I wanna look into is using Duplicacy to also back up really important documents to my proton storage.
Seconded. Subscribed to it a month ago in my mission to cut my dependence on Google products. So far I’m loving it. Calendar is a bit basic but it is encrypted.
Between the 500gb provided with the proton suite and using backblaze for backups, I’m pretty covered with data.

Exactly how it was for us too.
Was on VSCode, tried switching to neovim, ended up with JetBrains Goland. I might try neovim again but getting everything setup and learning new shortcuts was starting to eat up my work productivity. With Goland I have everything I need in one place.
It probably didn’t help that at the same time, I also tried to learn to use a moonlander with a different keyboard layout.

What’s the story on them?Edit: just looked it up myself. Seems to be a well liked person in the open source community. Idk. Regardless, props to them for the work they put in.
