I was a boss for a couple years. I didn’t force anyone to come in but I did find that I got along better with the couple of people who worked out of the office just because it’s easier to see someone as a person when you can sit near each other and BS all day as opposed to the ones who worked from home and I really only talked to when we were in meetings about work shit. I tried not to play favorites but that aspect did probably bleed into things a bit. We had a team chat going but only a few people used it (or they had one that I wasn’t part of so they could talk without the boss looking over their shoulder, which is fine but it’s hard to get comfortable with people you rarely interact with). I’m now on the other side of it with a boss who always works from home while I’m in the office and I’m struggling with that a little too because I have a hard time gauging if they’re upset with me or if doing well when we only talk on the phone a few times a week.
I’m one that prefers being in the office. My productivity goes to shit when I’m at home because there’s too much other stuff I can do. I also like talking to my coworkers face to face just in general because people are usually more empathetic in person. That being said I don’t think it should be forced on anyone if it’s not necessary to work in the office. The rest of my team works from home without issue as far as I can tell. We are fortunate in that our employer does not have an issue with WFH.
It actually told me how to do something in excel last week. It took like 5 attempts and me giving up, trying to find an answer on google, giving up on that, and trying another 3 or 4 prompts but it’s progress I suppose.
It also stops people from buying a game, sharing it to themselves on an alt account and using cheats. Then just spinning up a new alt account at no cost when the first one gets banned.
A long time ago. Now I just do it on the side but knowing how to fix cars has always been a good “in” to get girls to talk to me but from there I still had to actually get them to go out with me and see where it went. It’s not like I was just straight up trading car repairs for sex.
It’s not totally de-valued. Being able to fix cars has gotten me laid more than probably anything else.
The problem is that they didn’t pay for the content they’ve acquired and they’re selling it to others. The creators are not being compensated and may not want to participate in AI development at all. If the creators agree to it then fine but most do not. Just look at what’s happening with art. People are scraping all of an artists work to create AI pictures in their style and impersonate them. That’s not okay.
I was trying to keep it simple.
I would have paid them by purchasing the iphone and whatever software I used. I paid for the car that transported me. I would have paid for my education. People can also give their work away for free if they want, or be compensated by ads as in the case of Youtube or FOSS.
Current copyright is an utter bastardization of its intended use. Massive corporations are trying to act like they’re fighting for the little guy to own their IP forever. But they buy up all that IP for pennies compared to how they turn around and commoditize it. Then they own all of what society produces in perpetuity. They can sit on their dragon hoards and laugh as they gobble up any new creation that strays too close. And people wonder why everything is a sequel of a sequel of a sequel owned by massive corporations.
What do you think ChatGPT is trying to do? It’s already being used to churn out shitloads of garbage content. They’re not making things better.
If ChatGPT was free I might see their point but it’s not so no. If you’re making money from someone’s work you should pay them.
If you practice and prepare you can cut down on some of the time. I used to live right next to a street of fast food joints so it was never worth it to cook myself from a time standpoint unless I was just having some frozen garbage. Now it’s a 15 minute trip to pick something up if there’s no line so I cook a lot more and with experience I’ve been able to streamline things so it goes faster. Also make enough for 2-3 meals when you cook and then “leapfrog” through the week eating the leftovers. That way you don’t have to cook every day but also don’t have to eat the same thing every day.
Yeah that’s why we’re sending teenagers that don’t sign out to go to the bathroom instead.
We have to get those astronauts boeing stranded up there back somehow…
Pippen couldn’t even handle a dragon firework. If he had access to a nuke he’d have leveled the Shire immediately.
Vaping is nothing compared to what they could buy with the money they spent on the whatever exorbitant price this surely costs.
It’s not about the vaping it’s about teaching them to not waste public money on stupid shit.
Fake, if these were Canadian lesbians at least one of these women would be dressed like a lumberjack.
Imagine paying taxes for education and they spend it on shit like this.
Well, someone could. I’m just some schlub listening to podcasts.
