The people may be dumb at electing Representatives, but get a straight forward measure up for vote and the people seem to follow through in correcting it.

Sucks you’re being down voted, I mean maybe saying “idiot-proof” isn’t nice but comprehensive sex ed should cover helping those with a noodle understand how to find ones that fit comfortably and what main causes there are for breakage n whatnot. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to want to be paid for being the center of attention. There’s pathological levels to it for sure, but we’re communal, creative creatures. Maybe it depends on how we define influencer, idk. I follow mainly therapists and pet behaviorists on TikTok so my take is the teaching thrives through regular user engagement. I can imagine a teacher letting students know they have a page and getting their start that way, too. It has its risks but it’s really helped supplement my education.

I encourage you to look at experiments with kids involving altruism. The research suggests much of our fucked up nature is rather learned through the environment. The more we improve our environment, the more we’ll likely see that altruism shine through. Not to say psychopaths don’t exist, but they are extremely rare, and research demonstrates that they can live relatively well without acting on their impulses with proper treatment, too.

Relationships are a two way street, and dynamics like this are pretty common. It’s sometimes called over/under functioning or codependency in substance abuse. It could be the over functioner just tore the other person down, or the under functioner was susceptible already or drew it out of the over functioner. I agree it’s really difficult to know based on limited data, and all we can say is this is strange and comes across as infantilizing but if it works for them then whatever tbh.
