My old computer took to Mint without much of a problem. My newer one… many things didn’t work. The mint discord was very helpful though!

You didn’t have user_id. You had id_user. You didn’t have project_id, you had id_project. Most of the time, anyway. It was weird and no one could remember why it was like that. (Also changes to the DB were kind of just yolo, there wasn’t like a list of migrations or anything)
Depends on how strange and impactful their choice is.
If it’s something that I think should be in the style guide, I’d promise try to achieve consensus. I’d prefer not merging in the dubious code because then other people may take it as precedent.
One guy really wanted to write his code differently than the existing code and how others were doing it. It kind of sucked. Not that his way was bad, but no one else on the team subjectively liked it. I relented and let it go, and then had to deal with that unpleasant code for months. Eventually he moved on and a lot of that code got replaced. I retrospect I would have preferred if we had somehow convinced him to keep in the style we preferred. I’m sure he wasn’t happy that the rest of the team wasn’t keen on his style choices.
If it’s just a little weird, mention it as a non blocking comment. Like one guy would have weird line breaks in his longer comments. It technically followed the guide (under max line length) but it was weird. We asked him to stop, he said ok, no problem. But I didn’t block a merge over it.

Morrowind. Every once in a while I reinstall it, but I can’t get over the “it looks like an action game but it’s a stats game” thing anymore. And I never liked Oblivion or Skyrim. But when I was a kid, Morrowind was so full of wonder and stuff to discover. I also wasn’t playing with a guide, so discovering stuff like “You can enchant an item to have 1-100 strength, duration permanent. It picks the bonus when you put the item on, and it stays that until you take it off. So put it on and off until you get a big number. Much cheaper than trying to enchant it to +100 straight out” felt more personal.

I thought we had all reached consensus that style is more important than realism. And you can do style without mega hardware.
On the other hand, the fidelity in bg3 I think added something to it. I don’t think it would have been the same experience if they were simple sprites like the original games. Is it worth all the hardware? Maybe.

Can I have my cake and eat it too? I want games with a short critical path, but satisfying ways to spend more time with it if it’s fun.
So like interesting NG+ stuff, boss rush modes, different builds, whatever.

I’m an outlier in that I buy music on Bandcamp. Renting music feels like a bad deal to me, but for some people it might work out.
I think I repeat listen to albums a lot more than I repeat watch stuff.
Still, I’d consider a service that was like “pay $10 for this movie and it’s yours, drm free, forever”. A quick search shows WandaVision on DVD is like $50, and you’d have to like rip and self host yourself to stream it.
I think the subscription model is often user hostile, but it’s very lucrative
People just want all their shit in one place for a reasonable fee.
One problem with this is that monopolies are bad.
I’m not sure what the ideal solution is. It’s not “12 different services each charging $12/month” though.
I don’t think regular capitalism can really solve this.
I’ve been on Linux Mint for the past several months and I think I’ve needed the terminal twice?
Once I couldn’t find a GUI option to adjust the brightness/gamma, but searching found me the terminal command so I just used that.
More recently I needed newer Nvidia drivers than were available by default, so I had to add a new PPA thing. We’ll find out later today if I’m going to regret that.
I imagine you’d either have no phone, or one of those prepaid with cash ones. You could also probably turn off the cell parts and only use wifi
I’m pretty sure sleep more uses more energy than turning the machine off when it’s not in use

Lies of P. It was pretty good. 30 hours for the first run through. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’ve already played sekiro and some dark souls, as I think they do it better.

I can’t remember a time I’ve ever been excited about a rebrand.
Sometimes at jobs it has come along with needed technical improvements, but usually it’s just “Hey everyone change your email signatures and linkedin photos our new brand is going out!! Aren’t you glad we spent time on this instead of hiring more developers/sales/support?”
Maybe I just undervalue marketing.
Back on topic. This seems silly. Firefox was a well known brand and iconography.
