Did you use your laptop on a bed at any point?
One Puuuuuuuuuunch
I used to use Ubuntu years ago. The beauty of that distro is that it will fuck itself up. No action required on your part. Versions after 16 would black screen themselves after an upgrade, or the mouse pointer would go on vacation. Even better, it would say your 100% correct password was incorrect and lock you out.
You’re not really any worse off with something like Arch, aside from the initial install. Overall, less headaches for me.
You could probably run Linux on a binary abacus. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bbinary_Abacus_002.jpg
Programmers I’ve worked with all prefer MacBooks. And yes, you can run Linux on a Mac too.
I heard the best deals happen closer to the end of the sale. Not sure if true.
HTTPS would prevent advert injection, assuming you didn’t accept a bad certificate at any point. But if they control your router and infrastructure, they can still redirect you to other pages however they want.
Some software check for updates without requiring the packages to be signed. The ISP could do a HTTP redirect to a fake torrent client update. The program says “Update available”. It downloads a malicious version.
Other ISPs have been caught injecting adverts into their traffic. So there’s ways.
Jokes on them. I uploaded 1 TB of pirated content years ago before the 365 subscription expired and OneDrive hasn’t functioned since.

I can’t read the article because of a full screen Cookie Choices pop-up that I can’t dismiss. ☠️
As a side note, EA has basically locked me out of my entire library and I gave up trying to fix it. Terrible launcher.
It’s a vendor specific feature, as opposed to something any graphics chip can use. It’s kinda like… endorsing a closed source driver feature.
I don’t think they thought this through.
He says he wants “your” cookies.
Ah okay. I saw it on Steam listed as just MS Flight Simulator. Assumed it was the latest one.
