CSS ruined the internet and it will ruin this as well.
Krita has a better brush engine and the AI plugin is amazing. The live AI painting with layers is so cool. It’s like magic
Idk about other people but I don’t have the money, and can’t justify buying a console in addition to a PC. If I had that extra money, I’d upgrade my computer. That and I don’t like AAA games and I’m already invested in Steam and GOG libraries.
The main reason I like Winamp: Advance Visualization Studio. And skins. Bring back skins in applications. I don’t care if 99% are ugly and unusable. We don’t need jerks like Gnome team deciding what everything should look like.
Idk what age your dad is, but I’m 53 (gen-x) and my generation are notorious for being difficult to market to. Maybe he just blanks it out, like an automatic mute button. I used to do that but ads are far too mentally disruptive for me these days. I’ve had enough.
I despise ads. I can’t even bring myself to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime. If there is advertising, it ain’t worth it, no matter how cheap.
I don’t think OpenAI actually released any FOSS code, did they?
I think people would have less issues with AI training if it was non-profit and for the common good. And there are open source AI projects, many in fact. But yeah, these deals by companies like this are sleazy.
That was a short honeymoon.
This isn’t a win. A win would be gaining something. This is just getting back what they stole.
No. Not unless you want a nasty-gram from your ISP.
Gnome can eat a steaming hot bowl of dicks.
It’s kind of happening naturally as it picks up more users and developers. There are really only a few distros that all others are based on. And as many have already said, it’s not fragmented and actually very healthy, and that’s a good thing.
Webpee is more Google shit being forced down our throats. They absolutely will eventually phase out all other graphic formats on Chrome. These giant tech companies are breaking the Web and this is just another example of them throwing their weight around.
Don’t underestimate the power of nerds. Computer nerds influence tech purchasing decisions, both at home and on the job. The less tech savvy often ask “the computer person” what they recommend. Nerds have actually been astonishingly patient with MS, for decades. But the worse MS makes Windows, the less and less likely they’re going to go with the default, “just buy Windows” answer.
Yes, we need more artists defending capitalism with futile, annoying, and inaffective attempts at DRM. I guess we didn’t learn anything from the music DRM wars in the 00s.
Mozilla seems to believe browsers are the destination, rather than a means of getting there.
I read the first book back in the 00s. This was just before everyone was making these epic, high production TV series. Even so, my first thought was, this would do well as an HBO/Showtime/cable series. My second thought was, I’m not going to bother reading any of the other books. Too many characters that I not only didn’t like, but could keep track of. Having a different chapter for each character, and jumping back and forth, not for me.
No, he’s just grating and obnoxious.
