Same thing happened to me, but I only remember it happening when I was on Bazzite. Are you running something that’s not SteamOS?

Really excited for this. I like what they’ve done with Gnome, so I expect this will be even better.
It is fearmongering, albeit unintended, but I don’t think it completely applies to the Fediverse as it stands. We should always remain vigilant and never complacent, and I’m sure the devs and moderators are keeping spam control in their minds. This isn’t the 1980s, and we’re not trying to retrofit a protocol that came before spam was ever a thing.
Ultimately defederating bad actors and defederating “good” actors who fail to moderate their own users is necessary.
Agreed, and this is what makes the Fediverse so good. It would be annoying to lose your instance, true, but you just move to another or roll your own. Additionally, let’s say they start spamming Mastodon from mastodon.social; their messages would go to the Global channel, but if I only ever read Local or Subscriptions, I’ll never see their spam.
The Fediverse and ActivityPub will continue to evolve, but unlike SMTP, they were created after the internet became adversarial. This author isn’t the first to try to fearmonger over the future of AP, and they won’t be the last.
Good paste. I’ve used that stuff in other projects.
But that’s good to know. I don’t think the Kryonaut replacement would be significant enough of a thermal change to matter in this application, so maybe the updated hardware in the OLED is cooler overall and makes it a better candidate for skinning.
And some games want an older version of Proton (like River City Girls), so it’s not always intuitive what the fix might be, but there’s several options to improve compatibility, these days.
Now that ntsync has been added to the upstream kernel for the next release, it will only get better.
Nah, I implied that robots can provide a human touch!
They’ll also draw you a picture on request. It’s silly, but it adds a bit of a human touch to the purchase process (I got one from Bot #187). Also, I’ve read from reviews on cheaper skins on Amazon that dbrand’s tooling and fitment is better than the cheap skins out there.
Do you have an LCD or OLED Deck? Might make a difference (or not, I dunno).
But what if you don’t want it away, you just want it off but nearby?
But how else could you possibly say, “Get that weak shit off of my track?”
Perhaps you just don’t like it in places where “from” would be appropriate…?
Any bit of improvement is good in my book, though I agree that the title is a bit misleading.
I haven’t played this one, but I did the one from KanoOS several years ago, and it was really helpful for learning some of the common CLI tools, like cat
, cd
, and grep
.
More of these kinds of games is a good thing, IMO!
Yep, distrobox is a wrapper for Podman, which is also installed by default.
But I agree, there’s actually not a ton of functional difference between SteamOS and Bazzite, unless you want/need to use your Deck like a laptop. If you are only doing gaming, SteamOS is actually the better choice, because Valve has patches and modifications that aren’t yet included in upstream that maximize the hardware’s capabilities and stability.
KH2 is where I would say the gameplay really takes off.
And where I’ve heard from other fans that the story takes a dive off a cliff. So you get better gameplay and a mess of a story.
I do not have personal experience to verify, but multiple friends confirmed this to be the case.
I feel like it’s more common in indie games to get post-launch improvements like FSR. Still, seems like it’s becoming more common, especially in games that are graphically intensive.
You said it’s off-brand, and I have to wonder what kind of Bluetooth radio they used. Do you know what Bluetooth version it has?
And this is why I think Valve was very shrewd when it came to deciding what hardware to use. Not only is AMD better supported, but it feels like every update just keeps improving everything.
Doesn’t matter if it’s actually better on paper (I don’t know if it is or isn’t), because it feels like the value only improves.
I bought it specifically because it directly and indirectly supports the Linux community at large. I’m now working on moving away from Windows for gaming, because they’ve made it possible with what they’ve done with tools like Proton and gamescope.
So, that particular problem was fixed for me when I went back to SteamOS from Bazzite, which required me to reimage the entire device.
Thus, my two suggestions are:
