Well then, what are we waiting for? Let’s go visit Alpha Centauri!

There’s processed, and then there’s Processed. When I make bread, it’s a processed food, it’s not just whole wheats. Except for fruit, most of what I eat is processed, but not much Processed.
French fries are so delicious though. Chips and chips are my junk food.
Well it was a change, but I don’t disagree. Instead of trying, he just looked for someone to blame. It’s not like there aren’t external forces but our own actions and thoughts are what we can control, and can make a big difference. He’s doing better now, too late for us but he’s working, paid child support, stopped drinking, still a racist fuck but realized he was his biggest problem and did work on himself.
My ex was a chill stoner with a good work ethic when we got together and we had many good years, then he lost job after job, stopped looking, got radicalized reading Stormfront, then eventually physically abusive. I could not convince him to seek help, since he got so paranoid.
People change, sometimes you change in opposing directions.
Bad experiences. No experience at my age would be a very bad sign. With my husband, we each had one crazy ex, then he had a couple of two year relationships that weren’t bad just sort of ran their course. Apparently when he met me he knew it could work out long term but I was afraid he was only good for two years, so just took it kinda slow, not sex-wise but relationship-wise. Waited two years to move in together (we both had kids so it was a good idea regardless) then he started making noise about getting married, I told him he could ask after we’d lived together two years.
Best relationship of my life so far, 12 years in, we are both well aware how good we have it, because we have both had the bad times. His kids won’t even talk to their mom - in the divorce the courts gave him custody not just of his kids, but his step kids too, that is how bad she got, and she has not improved. My ex’s mom said if it came to it she would argue her son should not even have visitation, that’s how bad he got (we weren’t married so that part was easier). He has improved when he quit drinking, thank God and now sometimes hangs out, like at holidays, parties, etc.
So I would argue for experience use but caution. Not someone with a string of crazy exes.
That phone # is for a Denny’s in LA too.
“Hi, can you teach my daughter to long hair?”
“Sir, this is a Denny’s.”
Our Kimchi is working so hard on this and I don’t usually think of her as clever. She knows the knob opens the door so she bats at it, hangs on it.
Neither cat has been messing with the toilet paper lately though.
I got a new laptop at work and everything, every file I worked in, was creating a second copy of itself on OneDrive. It was so annoying and took awhile but I found instructions on deleting the duplicates.
It took all the files off my local machine and left the ones on OneDrive.
Aaaargh!
You must not have dry hands. That step #3 should be:
Stand there rubbing on the bag with nothing happening, hand bag to husband or go over to the lettuce section and touch the ice then open the bag.
Most stuff I just toss in the cart with no plastic bag, but like to have a few for the refrigerator, they are useful.
I do indeed most ardently hate. Begone!
Hope springs eternal in the hearts of women.
Whole Foods has a great bakery. It was a loaf I bought there that inspired me to start making sourdough. Locally, we have “Cuban bread” that I’m pretty sure is really Tampa bread, if you get it at the right bakeries it’s great. Supermarket bread is mostly nonsense, is that not true elsewhere?
We actually pay for all our kids’ phone service because T-Mo let us add them for $10/month each line. If they raise it 5 per line it will add quite a bit but I think I’d just ask the kids to pay their $15 a month then, or spin them off if they prefer, and save money overall, T-Mobile has already saved us thousands of dollars over the years, improving service without raising the price so they have a little bit of loyalty from me. It may get shitty from now but it’s been a good run for 15 years at least.
I have no Facebook, I want no Facebook. When I got my now job a few years back they said “we couldn’t find you on Facebook.” That’s right, you can’t.
And yes I get left out of that communication stream, but absolutely don’t care. Like, not even a little bit.
I’m waiting it out. Already my kids see it as “boomer shit”.
2 of my kids are young enough that they were targeted by the micro transactions, but the total lifetime spend on gaming stuff is under $1k, mostly spent on a PS4 and a PC for gaming, bought some Steam games, some PS games and both spent a little in Genshin. But not ever from my money, except for the equipment, I split that cost with them. $0 before they were 15. And they both UNDERSTAND money, both got part time jobs in high school, they make money. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to throw a little cash at a game you enjoy but it needs to be a decision not an impulse, turn off the game and think about it.
Because they don’t taste good and fermented mushrooms have an off-putting texture? I like the flavor of most edible mushrooms but the psylosibe are not tasty.
Microdosing is something I’d really like to try though, it probably WOULD be a really nice energy drink, something that just opened you and woke you just a little not bash you over the head psychedelic.
I have a pixel, it defaults to RCS and those do not reliably deliver to my husband, who is on an android Samsung phone. I can’t figure out what the big advantage of RCS is.
I got one even though I’ve not posted in months, let it go when I made an account here. Old account though so maybe whatever algorithm they used didn’t look for recency. I don’t think I’m interested, it seems to me they have already passed the peak and are on their way down, and going public will surely just accelerate the decline.
Oven fries we do make, unpeeled organic Russet potatoes in olive oil and salt. I’d file those under minimally processed. Not even as processed as the sourdough bread I make.
But the delicious fries fro McDonald’s that are so far removed from being a potato seem more processed.
Ultra -processed I thought was like a Twinkie or Pringles or a frozen packaged dinner. Those sort of foods I have maybe once a month if you count diet coke, but only ever that occasional diet coke and at Halloween my kids save me the mini Milky Way Midnight if they get any. So not none, but approaching none.
