I never claimed that it was easy in a technical sense, just in a mechanical sense. But to double down on my point, if Ivory Tower had created The Crew with the possibility of ripping out the online mode entirely in mind, then the structure and the mechanics of the game would’ve made it very easy to do so.

For The Crew especially, an offline version would’ve been easily doable, as in, most online feature of The Crew feel optional to begin with. To just drive around the map or race against AI, no online features are required.

I much prefer uMatrix over NoScript, it is way more intuitive. And even though uMatrix is no longer updated, it still works better than NoScript for me. My Firefox Android has gotten soft-locked by NoScript in regular intervals. Since they enabled uMatrix for Firefox Android again, I have had no such issues.

That’s a pretty meh solution. You need to sub to everything to populate your federated tab and then your federated tab becomes a tell of what you subbed to.

Or there could be a delay of one minute before posts get federated, giving the user the option to quickly delete a comment or post.

That is one thing Lemmy is not good at: Protecting its users legally. No admin can be expected to hire a lawyer to fight off those companies.

Then the constitution that would prohibit trans rights would need to be changed first. If politicians want to remove the constitutional right to privacy in order to allow spying on your own constituents, then go ahead and own the fact that you want to undermine the right to privacy. Don’t hide behind “oh, this will totally not affect law-abiding citizens”.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: Politicians that push for legislation that has previously been ruled as unconstitutional should be charged for willfully trying to literally break the law.

As long as they are used defensively, weapons are needed. And having the latest and greatest weapons really helps. We can see this play out in Ukraine clear as day. If Ukraine had more weapons in the beginning, Russia hadn’t invaded. If they had anyways, Ukraine would’ve been able to rebuff them with more force. Whenever the West does send weapons to Ukraine, they have an immediate and devastating effect on Russian troops. But because we are sending so little, the war bogs down into a WW1-style slugfest. Also, the ammunition given by the West allows Ukraine to do targetted strikes mostly. Russiaon the other hand is just sending wave attacks, accepting massive civilian casulties.
