This would be a great point if we were discussing how fast you can get the item and not the cost of the item.

Definitely would have been my first choice to look also, but do you think that staples or office max is going to have something cheaper than amazon?
There is a kernel of truth in that sentiment though. The government has a tendency to be grossly wasteful of resources, but I feel this is offset by the fact that they aren’t profit driven in their goals and less likely to skyrocket prices to line shareholder pockets. Corporation are also “wasteful” in a sense, where they charge insane markups over actual cost and refuse to pay taxes on them, the difference here is that corporations move their profits offshore and out of Americans pockets, where the government always ends up paying private contractors more than they should. In the end corporations do more with less while government controlled services are always WAAAAAY cheaper than their private counterparts for the consumer despite them being inefficient.
This is the part they don’t get. Do you want zero waste and ever rising prices for the sake of some worthless rent seeking billionaire cocksucker, or do u want some inefficiency, but you pay less overall. One makes someone else rich at your expense, the other allows you an affordable life while preventing another billionaire from existing.
Exploitation is the answer.
I typed hunt and peck for so long that I can hunt and peck with my eyes closed. Though technically I’m not hunting anymore, just pecking lol.
Shame the article was talking about a mobile phone or that point would have mattered…
90% of the time they are “carbon free” through carbon offsets, which are generally a huge amount of bs.
The government just doesn’t work for the people anymore. It works for the donors that fund them.
Just had an Airbnb cancel on us in Japan 1 week before our trip… Won’t be doing that again after seeing how little Airbnb gave a shit
This 100%
Windows is in a permanent state of shitification, it feels to be like they have sales driving development. Every year Windows applications make more and more stupid fucking decisions with how stuff functions. You can’t target a specific folder to save a word doc without 5 clicks to get to the fucking file explorer. You now left click to fix spelling instead of right click in outlook. None of this shit makes sense. They keep fucking around with how stuff operates for seemingly no rhyme or reason and all it’s doing is pissing off seasoned users. I know the devs aren’t this fucking brain dead which is how I get to “sales must be driving” mentality. Because sales people tend the be the worst fucking people to make decisions on shit, they’re good at charming people, they should stick to that.
Most likely just a written with little real tech experience.
Same, but this is our only option unfortunately.
Great contribution.
on my phone lockdown mode is found by pressing side button and power up at the same time, then selection lockdown from the menu
FYI Androids have a feature for this. If you are ever forced to interact with a cop you can press the side button and volume up(might be different on other phones) to select lockdown which will force your phone to only be opened with the password. Its gross that we need this feature, but now you know.
My argument is that self driving car fatalities have to be compared against human driven car fatalities. If the self driving cars kill 500 people a year, but humans kill 1000 people a year, which one is better. Logic clearly isn’t your strong suit, maybe sit this one out…
This is the actual logical way to think about self driving cars. Stop down voting him because “Tesla bad” you fuckin goons.
They don’t want to compete with tiktok, they want them gone so they win without trying to make their own service better, which they could do, but they don’t want to change what likely ends up being a more lucrative algorithm for them if they aren’t dealing with competition. You know, American free market economics 🙄
A thing never mentioned in these debates is that noone in the world is buying tiktok without buying the underlying algorithm, the same algorithm the app runs on worldwide, the algorithm is the special sauce. They are not going to sell the basis for their app just for a single payday in the US market, which after buying it, they could rebrand and then once successful in the US, compete in the global market against tiktok but with the income of the most lucrative app market in the world behind them. It’s an extremely stupid business move.
So you are arguing its a duopoly?
