They didn’t delete your account. They deactivated it. It’s still worth money to them
Wise also has virtual visa cards you can generate and delete. Great for not being victim to leaks
https://xmr.directory/ also a good source, and https://kycnot.me/
Scaleway has educative blog posts about water usage footprint of datacenters and how they’re approaching it more efficiently. Recommended reads
In Europe we have PSD2 but I dunno if it’s enough to create a full app
Don’t wanna be a whiner but wireless in ears never last long enough for me. I’m forced to stop using them after a while because they need to be charged. Even a 2 and a half hour phone call is enough to deplete them. This is a non existing problem with wired ones
I still have 200 euro wired in ear headphones that are my favorite pair so I need to 3,5mm port. But I never got the loud commotion over the disappearance of the port, because you can easily use a 3,5mm to USB-c cable. Having said that,I do still appreciate such a port in my phone because sometimes I forget to take the cable with me or I lose it.
I think it’s just that there are too many options and the communities are so fragmented. I’m trying out simplex but it still feels like beta software. Regardless I’d like to see it succeed so we have a real private alternative that doesn’t rely on big tech or shady government sponsorship.
Why should that be an issue? It’s fully open source
Isn’t matrix encryption beta? I remembered element always warns about that
No, first time I hear about it
Thanks that solves it
Looks interesting but I tried it and like most alternative engines, it’s bad and showing regional results for me. It’s good for English based searches but not in my lingo
Too bad about the choice for qwant. I’ve been using them for many years and they have big flaws: they block visits from unsupported countries, so if you’re traveling, you’re fucked. They also started blocking ad blocking users and their main webpage is full of crap that you have to disable manually. Their support is non existing. And they use the same censorship as Microsoft. I moved to brave search recently
It’s based on unifiedpush standard https://unifiedpush.org/. So a central notification middleman like google firebase for all your apps (that support it). There’s messengers like mercurygram, fluffychat, Molly that support it and you can also send notifications yourself via a simple curl command.
It’s a more complex setup to have vpn active on your router though. It’s not noob proof, because you’ll get blocked from websites like Netflix. I have an openwrt based router that allows be to use device based vpn policies, which is more efficient and effective
I see a lot of support for Mulvad but they don’t own their hardware afaict. How can you trust that the hosting provided doesn’t have backdoor access? Azire for example owns, collocates and minimize their hardware (driverless etc.)
Ntfy - no more google reading notifications
Jellyfin - media served without questionable Plex account
Arch - on so many levels allows me a private computing experience
Posteo - simple but efficient email service
Resilio sync - cloudless syncing
I don’t have bad experience with fairphone’s warranty. The part where I agree with you is that warranties don’t make sense for smartphones that are still functional. They become such an important part of our lived that parting with it for repaird is difficult.
