I would totally read that book
I would totally read that book
I’m all for getting into old school tech, I even like to browse neocities.org on occasion just for the hit of nostalgia for the old web rings. I never got into newsgroups though, and I’m wondering what reasons you might use that instead of something like Lemmy, Mastodon etc?
Apart from the piracy side, I know all about that already lol
I wish he had the balls to follow through with it
This is fucking amazing
I used to watch a lot of Luke Smith when I first got into Arch 5 years ago, but nothing much since then. The only Linux youtuber I watch nowadays is Chris Titus Tech, and then only sometimes.
try doing pacman -Syy
it works for me, I have to do it every few months 🤷
been with windscribe for 5 years now on arch, it works great. There’s only a CLI app but it works fine
I can’t remember the details now, but I tried running Ubuntu on my desktop first but I had trouble with some software not running. Then I tried Arch, and it just worked 🤷♂️
5 years now and it’s still running fine. Any problems I have are fixed with a quick google, and maybe a copy and a paste lol
Rubbish is what they are! The texture of chickpeas is just awful
Wow thanks that’s the best breakdown I’ve read! I’ve been torrenting for maybe 15 years and used to collect all the shows I watched until one day my external hard drive died and I lost everything :(
Nowadays I just delete a show after I’ve watched it, so Idon’t think I’ll worry about making my own server yet. I’ve had a look into it and think I’ll start off with NZB Geek as indexer and Frugal Usenet as a server. Drunken Slug seems pretty popular too but they don’t seem to be open for registrations atm
Can you recommend any good walk-throughs for noobs? I didn’t even know you needed a server lol
I’ve looked into doing that myself before, but it seemed like a lot of work and research to get it set up
You know I’ve been using both DDG and google for years, google on my work computer and DDG at home. I too have found google is a little better, but the past few weeks at work I’ve have occasionally found the google results insufficient, so I’ve tried DDG on a whim and it’s actually given me better results!
Cool, I just installed Thunderbird and am giving it a go.
