My jaw dropped when I saw that. Not sure how many people are aware if it.

Samsung is also trying to make its ACR data more valuable for ad targeting, including through a deal signed in December with analytics firm Experian.
This should add to their profits.
People deserve better and should expect/demand better.
Average users will not have the knowledge or patience for work arounds.
Imo, the larger problem seems to be the majority of users appear to be fine with ads and data collection just to watch a movie or series.
There used to be a good one called Tabliss. Not sure if it is still available. Very customizable.
We know of no rigorous study showing that toughened digital marketing privacy policies produced tangible economic benefits for anyone, let alone lower-income consumers.
You do not need a study to see the numerous headlines of companies having their data breached of your personal information they did not even have permission to collect.
I suppose the significant amount of money spent on fines, repairs, lawsuits, ransomware do not count.
The judge said it was a monopoly but there does not seem to be any consequences at this time if ever.
Mehta’s conclusion that Google has been running an illegal monopoly sets up another legal phase to determine what sorts of changes or penalties should be imposed to reverse the damage done and restore a more competitive landscape.
The potential outcome could result in a wide-ranging order requiring Google to dismantle some of the pillars of its internet empire or prevent it from paying to ensure its search engine automatically answers queries on the iPhone and other devices. No thanks, I’ll pass
Yes! Thank you. I have it installed and everything seems to work now, if a bit slow.
I am working on what type of security/virus stuff to use other than basic common sense. Windows once installed a virus in an update. Lots to learn. Once I get passed the security hurdle I will use it for a while until I am confident enough with the system to replace Windows on my main laptop. I really look forward to that day!
But don’t you just get tired of jumping through hoops for every little thing these days?
Big tech needs to stop being evil. There, problem solved, right…right…ha
They are displacing text messaging and making it look like nothings changed.
They get more of your data, so there’s that.
If only Signal were the default messaging app!!!
I am still unable to verify the iso. I installed gnupg but it keeps saying file not found.
This implies they are fine with it by tacit agreement.
