Ask WoTC how they feel about sending thugs to people’s doors
This is actually an insane take
Furries at large don’t care about the e2ee or security features
They care that:
their friends are the platform
custom stickers of their fursonas are easy to make and import
That’s basically it. Telegram has become entirely ubiquitous in the fandom. No one group/ideology claims it as their own.
Sincerely,
a progressive leftist furry who uses TG
The furry community is in absolute shambles
“learned some things like Linux, command line, docker, and networking/pfsense” “I don’t consider myself technical”
Don’t sell yourself short, I work in IT and have colleagues on our helpdesk who would struggle endlessly with those concepts.
I hereby dub you a tech person, like it or not, those skills can and do pay the bills.
Testing this out today on my setup! Happy to see the 555 drivers on Bazzite.
Nintendo is just on their own planet when it comes to… Basically everything, including game pricing.
Then buy a physical copy and store backups on a media server.
That or buy the media on a digital service and rip the file or screen capture it out.
Even buying a physical copy only entitles you to “ownership of a license” nowadays anyway. Ie: how Nintendo gets away with all their bs surrounding emulation.
Syncthing is fantastic. Loving it so far.
The customer is only right if they threaten to cancel their service
Even then, if the cost of improving service is more than one customer’s cancellation, the customer can kick rocks
Free hardware is the best hardware!
I’ve had trouble using any kind of VPN on ABB. It’s pretty frustrating.
Second time Sony has done this in almost as many months. Fuck Sony.
Guess I’ll be putting Helluva Boss on my Plex server.
Meh.
My prime was already cancelled because they billed me in early January, when that extra $100 could be used on Christmas gifts, so it always snuck up on me.
I didn’t use it enough to justify it anyway.
I’m able to get a lot of gear secondhand through my job, so I’ve got:
One 2u Intel server running proxmox in a ‘cluster’ (circa 2013ish. Added RAM and upgraded the CPU/storage.)
One Intel nuc with an i7-7th gen as the other host in the cluster - only one VM is set to fail over between the two if needed.
VMs:

All acquired over the last couple years for the low low price of “it was going into the trash anyway”
Plex+Plexamp works great for audiobooks
For some reason the regular Plex player would restart tracks on me after being out of the app for a long time. But Plexamp seems to have that one under control.
Oh, also, while we’re talking audiobooks, check out Graphic Audio versions of your various books. They do a great job
Which means he sold at the top, then bought more at the bottom so he can ride the train back up to do the same thing again.
This isn’t a good thing.
Unfortunately they’re still a default app in the business world. Basically everyone at least uses Reader if only because it’s what people expect when they open a PDF.
Also make sure to set up 2fa on your login
The reason Valve is so heavily investing in Linux is that they know that Microsoft could - in theory - flip a switch and kill their business, especially because Microsoft themselves is a competitor to Valve in the form of Xbox and Gamepass.
It’s a defensive tactic, not a money-making venture.
In fairness, I still play 5e
I haven’t given WotC a dime since that fiasco, though.
The last thing I bought from them directly was the R20 integrated Out of the Abyss digital campaign for me to DM with some friends.
We got halfway and it was kinda mid. I tossed a big ass boss fight at them along with the mid-game boss and it felt final enough.
Once it releases in full, we’ll be a Cosmere RPG group for a good while.
