  • Based on the dark humor groups on Facebook, I am quite confident this is what racists actually believe. Transphobes too.

The poorly educated think dark humor is a joke an acceptable way to joke about ideas they hate.

When a study linking dark humor to intelligence was released, the knuckle draggers clucked and strutted about, thinking their hatred indicated intelligence.

Vegans need to downvote anyone that disagrees when them is proof their ideas cannot stand scrutiny. They do not relish in a debate of in any capacity. They don’t even have original ideas, it’s the same couple talking points because it’s ideology base. They call themselves converts but won’t accept it’s a religion.

I’m sure you perceive it that way, as you already said you perceive being a threat. You appear to take pride in it.

Couldn’t be less threatened by you. Your abstinence reduces price competition for meat products. You are restricting yourself such that it benefits me.

The real threat in this regard are the boomers who eat more meat products than other generations.

I feel I should donate a quarter head of beef to a local food pantry in your name as tribute and to show there are no ill feelings. At least from me. I doubt you feel the same towards me.

Nope. Vegans are fine. Veganist like you are religious nut jobs. You’ve created narratives and then act like anyone who doesn’t agree with you is the bad guy. Not unlike the far right or any other extremist group.

That feeling of your existence being a threat is the same feeling any other authoritarian feels.

  • That might be their internal reasoning but Apple will very quickly move to have these capabilities in house. Apple has been working on machine learning for a while but they don’t collect data so they are unable to build these LLMs.

For now it makes sense for Apple to leave the liability of basing these LLMs on copyrighted data. If OpenAI losses those court battles, they take the hit for services rendered to Apple. None of that liability transfers to Apple.

Meanwhile, Apple is going about this the Apple way by encouraging developers to integrate their apps into new frameworks being added. This gives them access to user data directly from the source allowing them to build personalized models.

These models will likely be far more useful to the day to day mundanity of life than the hallucinogenic encyclopedia that is ChatGPT.

  • Yes. I understand the people who don’t use Apple products think they are smarter than those who do. Your list of common tropes is tiresome.

The reality is quite far from what you imagine. People who actually understand technology, people who are in the tech industry use Apple products at a higher rather than those who are not.

Instead of Apples well thought out walled garden, fools happily pay extra to play in Google/Amazon/Microsofts chain linked dirt pit. It’s hilarious what lengths people go to pretend that is a better experience; that rusty chain link with barbed wire is superior to walls

  • You think parents should get their kindergartens an Apple Watch?

Perhaps you think I’m referring to children past elementary school.

Regardless of what Apple says AirTags are and are not for people will use them however they see fit. For example, they are not for tracking pets but there are pet collars designed to hold an AirTag so clearly many people are ignoring Apple.

Attaching an AirTag to a child’s backpack seems like an obvious way to track one’s child, even if it’s not supported use case.

The purpose isn’t track things you know how to find but to find things that get lost; like children. There is also enough paranoia about kidnapping that I’m sure there are at least a few children in every classroom that are tagged.
