  • I’m guessing you’ve never been on TikTok. It’s a pretty good news source and information disseminator. Your algorithm feeds you what you pick so if you linger on posts from physical therapists and psychologists about child development, that’s what you learn about. If you linger on political posts highlighting our local and federal government’s corruption, you get that.

I’m all for banning it (and all social media) for children, but if you think TikTok is all trash TV, you’ve been successfully propagandized.

  • My relatives hated this strategy, and I wasn’t the only one who suffered from it. They guilted me for it, but also guilted my parents and siblings. As if they are entitled to the details of my daughter.

People could handle (though they were vocally unhappy about it) is keeping the baby off Facebook. They could not handle me not sending pics on (Facebook) messenger, and they couldn’t handle me not telling me the birth weight.

Multiple boomers got very upset that I wanted to keep that information private.

  • Stress can exacerbate almost every medical condition. The boat doesn’t perform normally when it’s under stress. It can affect pregnancy like crazy which affects every single person in the world. Every single person comes from a pregnancy. Stress can affect sleep which also negatively affects like every condition.

  • I do feel bad that makeup isn’t more normalized for men. That said, the more you practice, the less noticeable it is! And if you go for a practiced natural look, it will probably not be noticeable to other men! For what it’s worth, makeup is almost always going to be immediately noticed by people who do makeup

No but they absolutely do say, “Wow you look really pretty today” but have no idea why.

Men treat you nicer when you wear makeup.

The other day my coworker said, “you look different. I don’t know what it is, but you look great. I think you’ve been getting a lot of rest” nope. Just wore makeup that day

My husband, many times, has been looking at me, admiring me, and complimenting me on how naturally beautiful I am without realizing I just filled my eyebrows in that day and have darker lashes rather than blonde lashes.

Just because men have the privilege of ignorance doesn’t mean they aren’t attracted to made up faces.

  • Right, that’s what I was thinking : just try to pick the smallest race. I’m guessing the majority would try to do the same thing. Obviously you have people who hate other races, but I’m hoping that even if 30% have the same idea, maybe it limits casualties… unless we’re all allowed to Google though, I’m guessing most of us have different guesses as to what the smallest race is

  • My circle has all turned on Airbnb. It’s a gamble. It used to be the gamble was worth it because it was cheaper than hotels, but now that they’re the same price, it’s not worth it.

Last time went great, the time before was not properly cleaned to guest standards, and they restained the wood walls in the kitchen so the whole place was permeated with an awful chemical smell that kept me from sleeping. At a hotel, you can just switch rooms if anything is suboptimal. At an air BNB, you’re stuck. Everyone in my circle has had half good half bad experiences and it’s just not worth risking your trip over.

  • I think this is especially true the older you get, but my experience was vastly different to my husband’s who was born 4 years before me, and somewhat significantly different from my brother’s 3 years behind. Part of the gap between my husband and I has to do with the large age difference in our parents, but the biggest difference is how quickly technology was changing in our formative years in the early 2000s. I am the youngest of the millennials, my brother is firmly gen Z (though only born the first or second year of them) and my husband is firmly a millennial
