Why would Sandilands ever do anything differently? There’s no penalty at all.
He earns $7-8 million a year, and at worst, the radio station might give him a 4 week holiday from not broadcasting.

I thought it was just someone acting like a censor. Craig Ferguson did a thing years ago where he had “Beth the CBS Executive” who had been called in to censor him. Of course, she was a comedian acting as the Executive and it was just funny to watch some of their shenanigans.
The big difference being that Ferguson is funny, and Sandilands is… something else.
I think the on-air censor is a bit, but KIIS has 2 censors assigned to his show according to this report:
