Anthony Albanese has slammed China over a “dangerous” incident involving Australian navy divers.

Australia has confirmed the naval personnel were hurt on Tuesday while performing a mission in support of United Nations sanctions enforcement.

Naval divers were in the water to cut fishing nets away from an Australian frigate’s propellers when a Chinese ship approached and emitted dangerous sonar pulses.

It’s good to see that he is taking this seriously - but not taking it as reason to declare war over as the Liberals seem to think. The Coalition’s commentary in the article is a bunch of BS

The Prime Minister must immediately disclose whether he raised this matter with President Xi, or whether it was withheld for expedient political purposes. Any failure to do so would rightly raise questions around Anthony Albanese’s ability to lead our nation.

Not leaking messages or revealing private conversations with China somehow means he can’t lead the nation? Like it or not we need to have a good relationship with China if we are to look after our national interests, such as good import and export deals

I strongly agree that we don’t need to start a war over this, but there has got to be more that we can be doing to show China that their actions have consequences, something to check their blatant disregard for the spirit of cooperation.
